Aestie is a photo editing app that helps you make your photos look more aesthetic. Aestie has two main features:

Filters & Effects — ready-made filters and effects that you can apply to your photos.
Aestie Match — lets you provide a photo you love as a reference and your own photo. Aestie recreates the visual aesthetic of the reference photo — including its colors, lighting, mood, grain, and overall look — on your photo.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how your photos are processed, and your choices.

By using Aestie, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What we are (and aren’t) doing

No account needed

You can use Aestie without creating an account or providing your name, email address, or other contact information.

Filters & Effects stay on your device

Photos edited using Aestie’s standard filters and effects are processed directly on your device. These photos are not sent to our servers.

Aestie Match uses AI

When you use Aestie Match, the photos you choose are securely transmitted to our AI processing provider so we can recreate the aesthetic of your reference photo on your photo.

We don’t permanently store your photos on our servers

Your photos, reference images, and generated results are used to provide the feature you requested and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing is complete.

Your photos remain yours

We do not sell, rent, or use your photos for advertising.

Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate Aestie.

1. Photos and content you choose to provide

You may provide:

Photos you choose to edit
Reference photos used with Aestie Match
Generated or edited images

For Filters & Effects, your photos are processed directly on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
For Aestie Match, your selected photo and reference photo are securely transmitted to our backend and AI provider to generate the requested result.
We do not permanently store your input photos, reference photos, or generated images on our servers after your request has been completed.
Your edited and generated photos may remain on your device until you delete them.

2. Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase an Aestie subscription, Apple processes your payment through the App Store.

We do not receive or store your full credit card number or other payment card information.

We may process information such as:

Apple transaction information
Original transaction ID
Subscription status
Subscription product
Anonymous app user identifier
Usage or entitlement information

This information is used to verify purchases, manage subscriptions, and provide paid features.

3. Device and network information

We may temporarily process basic technical information needed to operate and secure Aestie, including:

IP address
Device type
iOS version
App version
Request timestamps
Basic network information

This information may be used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and reliable operation.

4. Analytics and diagnostics

We may use analytics and crash-reporting services to understand how Aestie is used and to fix technical problems. This may include:

Anonymous or pseudonymous user identifier
Device model
iOS version
App version
Subscription status
Feature usage
In-app events
Crash and error information

Your photos and generated images are not included in analytics or crash reports.
Analytics and diagnostic information is used to improve Aestie, understand product usage, and fix bugs.

Face data

Some photos you upload may contain faces.

Aestie does not use your photos to identify who you are.
We do not create facial recognition profiles, face templates, or biometric identifiers from your photos.
When you use Aestie Match, photos containing faces may be processed by our AI provider solely to create the image you requested.

We do not use face-containing photos for:

Facial identification
Advertising
Selling data
User profiling
Creating biometric databases

We only process photos containing faces to provide the photo editing and generation features you request.

Process Aestie Match requests
Analyze the visual style of your reference photo
Recreate the aesthetic of your reference photo
Return edited or generated images to you

Manage subscriptions

Verify App Store purchases

Customer support

If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your request.

Your photos and AI

Aestie Match requires AI processing because the feature needs to understand the visual characteristics of your reference photo and recreate them on your photo.

Your photos may therefore be securely transmitted to our AI provider.

We do not use your photos to train our own AI models.
Your photos are processed only to provide the Aestie Match functionality you request.

Third-party services

Aestie may use third-party services to operate the app. These services may include:

Apple — App Store purchases, subscriptions, and billing.
AI processing providers — process photos submitted to Aestie Match to generate your requested result.
Subscription services — help us manage subscription status and entitlements.
Analytics services — help us understand anonymous product usage.
Crash-reporting services — help us identify and fix crashes and technical problems.

Third-party providers only receive information necessary to provide their services.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Children

Aestie is not directed to children. The minimum age to use Aestie is:

13 in the United States
16 in the European Union and United Kingdom, or the higher age required by applicable local law

Do not upload photos of minors unless you have the appropriate permission to do so.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us at support@aestie.app.

International data transfers

Aestie uses service providers that may operate in countries other than your own.

As a result, information processed through our service providers may be transferred internationally.

Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Data retention

Photos and generated images

We do not permanently store your photos, reference images, or generated images on our servers after the requested processing is complete.

Photos stored on your device

Photos saved to your device remain there until you delete them.

Subscription information

Purchase and subscription information may be retained for as long as necessary to operate your subscription and comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

Technical and security information

Certain technical information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and system integrity.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through Aestie. These measures may include:

HTTPS and encrypted transmission
Secure API connections
Access controls
Authentication and authorization measures
Limited data retention

However, no internet service can guarantee complete security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

App Tracking Transparency

Aestie does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Aestie does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission for cross-app advertising tracking.

Push notifications

If push notifications are enabled, you can control notification permissions through your iPhone settings.

Legal bases for EU/UK users

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we may process information based on:

Performance of a contract — to provide Aestie and the features you request.
Legitimate interests — to maintain security, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve the service.
Legal obligations — to comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Consent — where consent is required by law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Aestie evolves.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required.

Your continued use of Aestie after an updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
